Water Wastewater Assistant Manager:


Reporting to the Water/Wastewater Manager, the Assistant Manager will provide oversight of the operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater treatment plants, water distribution and wastewater collection systems and associated facilities to ensure safe, effective and efficient operations in compliance with all applicable legislation, regulations, policies and certificates of approval.


Hallmarks of success will include a impressive track record of problem solving and innovation in a highly safety conscious environment; the ability to develop step-by-step processes from targeting a problem to developing a solution; ability to balance time constraints and a heavy workload while managing a complement of staff and projects; time and priority management skills that allow you to identify risk and urgency and to adjust projects and workloads with agility to ensure success.


  • Postsecondary education in likely domains of W/WW, Environmental or Civil Engineering disciplines, C.E.T. preferred.
  • Ontario Certifications:


  • Class

  • Water Treatment;


  • Class

  • Water Supply and Distribution;


  • Class

  • Wastewater Treatment; and


  • Class

  • Wastewater Collection.
  • Responsible Operator (ORO) as required under Ontario Regulation 128/04, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Guideline No. 5.1, and Drinking Water Operator/Water Quality Analyst Certification, as amended.
  • Five (5) years' experience in W/WW with at least three (3) years in a related supervisory role.
