    Rate: $ $28.97 per hour, determined by specific position assignment.

    Terms of Employment: Full-time, Fixed-term contract

    Schedule: Monday to Friday (5x2, 8-hour shifts)

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Summer students may be involved in various roles across Conuma Resources, adapting to different needs across the organization and may engage in a variety of tasks to support Conuma Resources' daily operations and projects. The specific duties and responsibilities will depend on the role assignments allocated to each students and may include:

  • Assist with day-to-day activities across different departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform data entry, organize files, and manage documentation to support departmental functions.
  • Maintain both physical and digital files and documents.
  • Shred outdated documents and secure confidential information.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Assisting with the preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Engage in routine maintenance and labor activities such as lawn mowing and painting.
  • Assist with basic maintenance tasks, including changing light bulbs and assembling furniture.
  • Participate in fieldwork that involves data collection and/or analysis.
  • Help coordinate various projects and assignments.
  • Provide assistance with various additional tasks as needed.

    Roles will be assigned based on specific business needs, as well as the students' educational background, skills, and career interests, ensuring valuable and relevant experience in their area of interest.

    Education, Experience & Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in high school, college, or university programs.
  • Students who are taking a gap year may also be considered.
  • Post-secondary students pursuing Mining Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences, Trades, or other fields related to the mining industry are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Prior academic projects, internships, or any work experience related to mining or industrial sectors will be beneficial.
  • Valid Driver's License is an an asset.
  • Students who are local to Tumbler Ridge or Chetwynd is preferred.

    Technical Competencies & Skills

  • Must be able to work 8-hour shifts; on a 5x2 schedule.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • Physically fit and capable to perform labour-intensive tasks.
  • Proven safety and attendance record.
  • Displays a strong willingness to learn and engage with new concepts and practices.
  • Ability and willingness to work in various weather conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with others.
  • Competent in computer use and proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Demonstrates maturity and professionalism in handling responsibilities, making thoughtful decisions, and interacting with team members.

    Note: Specific skills and competency requirements may differ based on the role assigned.

  • Tumbler Ridge to our Wolverine Mine, Brule Mine, Willow Creek Mine, and Quintette Mine
  • Chetwynd to our Brule Mine and Willow Creek Mine
  • Dawson Creek to our Willow Creek Mine
  • Mackenzie to our Willow Creek Mine
