Area Fleet Manager - Chemainus, Canada - GFL Environmental Inc.
Description
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the safety culture within the area and ensure compliance with all safety standards, policies, and procedures
Assist with establishing time standards and productivity measures within maintenance shops
Consistently monitor and report on fleet utilization and downtime
Work with local management to streamline completion and approval of large repairs
Assist regional management with capital (replacement, maintenance, and growth) plans
Mentor and support internal shop on day-to-day operations
Manage provincial apprenticeship programs
Negotiate & nourish 3rd party fleet vendor relationships
Audit DVIR reporting and ensure all noted deficiencies are dealt with accordingly
Work with regional management to ensure PM compliance is current and consistent
Ensure M5 and other fleet programs are fully utilized within the area
Manage area specific fleet related Invoice entry, review & approval
Initiate fleet additions, transfers, and disposals with asset management
Assist with monthly fleet P&L reporting and yearly budget planning
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Journeyman Certificate or equivalent experience
Experience with the CVIP Motor Vehicle Inspection Program
Class 5 Drivers License with a clean drivers abstract required, 1A or 3A Driver's License preferred
Strong Mechanical and troubleshooting abilities on a wide range of machinery and equipment
Experience with team management and mentoring
