Position and Duties


As sales and catering coordinator, your duties may be changed by Manga as needed to address the changing requirements of our business.

This could include location and property; you could be re-located to another property as needed.

Sales and Catering Coordinator is responsible to assist with administration of Sales and
Catering department plus achieve hotel revenue, profit and customer satisfaction goals by negotiating group business and coordinating the execution of the business with other departments

Your basic duties include, but are not limited to:_

  • Develop relationships with key contacts.
  • Manage expenses, maximize revenue, encourage upselling and work to slay ahead of competition.
  • Create and implement sales procedures to creates an efficient sales process.
  • Prepare proposals, negotiate rates, block space, process contacts and follow up to secure the business.
  • Compile and manage database with account information.
  • Compile and analyze reports to meet overall targets and goals of the hotel.
  • Conduct site inspections with clients.
  • Assist Director of Sales & Marketing in the strategic planning of budgets and sales.
  • Receive and answer inquiries relating to catering.
  • Handle all incoming inquires for groups.
  • Plan, upsell and detail the meeting/function with the client, including space requirement, times, equipment, menus, billing instructions, etc. and submit the appropriate proposal and/or sales contracts for signature. Complete appropriate paper work, i.e. Function sheets, change sheets, convention/group resume, reservation forms, Lost Business Reports, etc. and distribute to Hotel departments.
  • Work with and possess knowledge of the Yield Strategy Worksheet to ensure proper rate quoting and room block allotments.
  • Participate in preconvention meetings and sales/catering meetings.
  • Training and other sales related functions.
  • Participate in appropriate catering service meetings.
  • Work with other departments within the Hotel to provide quality service to customers.
  • Manage all details for wedding ceremonies, receptions, and dinners including day of the event and post event follow up.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Experience and Education

  • University or College degree in Hotel Management/ Business Administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Opera Property Management System would be an asset.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
