Description
The incumbent is a key member of a comprehensive team which provides a range of student records and registration support services within the Office of the Registrar to advise, guide and support a diverse population of domestic and international student and the Sheridan Community.
Under the direction of the Manager, Records and Registration, as the first point of contact and the primary source for student information, registration, records, and fees, the Associate provides supportive first point resolution for incoming Student inquiries and complex registration matters.
The incumbent is responsible for maintaining accurate student records, providing fulsome support to students and document creation.What You'll be Doing
Providing Registration and Records service to students, staff, faculty, and community members.
Providing thorough and clear explanations of Ministry and College Policies in a manner that is understood by all client groups;
Advising, guiding, and supporting new and returning, domestic and international students on academic program specific support through the entire student lifecycle;
Working collaboratively with OTR colleagues to offer the best possible student service and to support student success. In order to respond to the broad spectrum of student, staff and faculty inquiries and requests, the incumbent must have extensive knowledge of all Sheridan's enrolment processes such as appeals, grade point averages, selection requirements for portfolios, course and timetable changes, course adds, drops and swaps, program withdrawals, PLAR and transfer credit as well as legislated Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Ministry guidelines;
Maintaining the student record and registration functions throughout the student lifecycle;
Managing student, Academic faculty, and department enrolment activity for both course-based and block-based programs, that are time sensitive in nature;
Creating and issuing general and customized letters of enrolment for domestic and international students appropriate to the specific needs of the student (e.g. ECE bursary letters, expected to return, accessible learning, withdrawal letters, PGWP (post graduate work permit), letters from previous years and terms of enrolment, and VISA permanent residence letters);
Contributing to the Achievement of the Office of the Registrar Goals and Objectives;
Performing other related duties as assigned.

You exercise sound judgement and your sharp problem solving and conflict resolution skills allow you to solve challenges in a creative way.
3-year diploma/degree in public relations, business administration, or related field.
Minimum of 3-years progressive experience in an educational environment, or a combination of educational and social services environments, where responsibilities included:
Assessing and advising clients on complex issues; Collecting, recording, analyzing, reporting and presenting data and research findings; processing specialized data on the Student Information System, and drafting customized documentation and letters (equivalencies to be considered).
Thorough understanding of all Ministry and College guidelines, policies and procedures along with in-depth knowledge of Sheridan and its program offerings is preferred.
