Job Description:


Position Title:
Finance Coordinator


Terms:6-month contract, full-time (4-day week)


Location:
Based out of the Vancouver office, with hybrid working schedule


Reports to:
Controller


Salary:
$50k-$60k annually, prorated to contract term

You are accurate, detail-oriented and a multi-tasker extraordinaire who takes pride in delivering exceptional accounting services. You are an effective team player and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.


Responsibilities


The key responsibilities in this role are processing payables, revenues and general reporting for the Foundation in its British Columbia, and its associated offices in Ontario and Québec.


  • Process and administer the payables function, including managing employee credit cards This includes all functions related to payables.
  • Ensure all transactions are properly recorded in the Foundation's accounting system.
  • Respond to staff queries on outstanding invoices and payments in a timely manner.
  • Maintain vendor files, communicate with vendors, and resolve invoice discrepancies as they arise.
  • Process batches and print cheques for authorized signatures.
  • Prepare and process online bill payments and wire transfers.
  • Process donations received with the help of the Development team.
  • Assist with revenue recording, deferred revenue and project tracking.
  • Assist with various reporting processes.
  • Perform reconciliation for a variety of accounts and balances.
  • Support the Controller during the audit and annual budgeting process.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:


Skills, Experience and Knowledge Required

  • 2+ years accounting experience.
  • Postsecondary degree/diploma in account or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Solid experience using integrated financial accounting systems including payable modules.
  • Knowledge and handson experience with notforprofit practices is an asset.
  • Extensive experience with accurate account reconciliation.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • People person with a keen ability for follow up and completion.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative work style. Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong personal values aligned with DSF's mission and vision as demonstrated through work or community involvement.
  • Strong resiliency and ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions and requirements.
  • Positive attitude that energizes and influences the Finance and other teams throughout DSF.
  • Excellent analytical, problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Written and spoken French language skills are an asset.
