    Description

    Your Opportunity:

    • The Gestational Diabetes Ambulatory Pharmacist role located at Sunridge Medical Gallery and Richmond Road Diagnostic and Treatment Centre involves managing medication therapy for outpatients in the Calgary Zone. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive medication reviews, collaborating with the healthcare team, and optimizing patient outcomes.
    • Duties also involve selecting, initiating, and monitoring medication therapy, providing patient education, and participating in quality improvement initiatives and research programs.

    Description:

    As a Pharmacist I, you will ensure the safe and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. Managing medication therapy for patients, resolving drug-related problems, and overseeing compounding and packaging activities are key aspects of the role.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
    • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
    Additional Required Qualifications:
    • Licensed in good standing with Alberta College of Pharmacists (ACP).
    • Fluency in English, computer literacy, excellent communication skills, and Advanced Prescribing Authorization (APA) designation.
    • Authorization to administer drugs by injection and current direct patient care experience are essential.
    • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team, along with strong decision-making abilities.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Active CSHP membership and completion of an Accredited Canadian Hospital Pharmacy Residency are preferred.
    • An advanced degree in pharmacy practice, Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) certification, and recent experience in diabetes management, endocrinology, or women's health are advantageous.
    • Experience in an Ambulatory practice environment and serving as a preceptor to Pharmacy learners within the past 12 months are also desirable.
