How will you contribute?:

We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated professional to support our continued progress towards a barrier-free Senate

Using your proven project management skills, you'll coordinate the implementation of the Senate's accessibility plan.

Together with colleagues across the institution, you will help find solutions, deliver meaningful change and ensure accessibility is integrated into Senate activities.


You'll also track and report on progress of the plan's objectives, record feedback and responses regarding accessibility at the Senate, stay aware of legal and regulatory requirements, facilitate stakeholder consultations, develop and promote training and advise on accessibility best practices.


Open to:

The general public to staff one (1) indeterminate full-time position in the Communications Directorate.

Prerequisites:


  • A bachelor's degree in communications, social sciences or related field of study or an acceptable combination of related education and experience;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the communications field, and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the accessibility field;
  • Experience in the areas of employee engagement, change management, facilitating and organizing training programs and stakeholder engagement;
  • Experience leading longterm projects with multiple deadlines including planning and reporting;
  • Knowledge in the Accessible Canada Act and other regulations, standards and best practices related to accessibility;
  • Knowledge of Parliament and the Canadian political landscape;
  • Knowledge of the key components of the principles, methods and practices of Project Management in order to lead and implement the Accessibility plan;
  • Ability to explain complex topics in plain language in both official languages;
  • Skilled in writing and in communications to influence change, promote services, and present sound arguments to various targeted audiences on different platforms (reports, news releases, speaking points);
  • Knowledge of Senate Administration structure is an asset.
