NOTE:
This is a casual position instructing approximately 14 hours per week ending on or before May 3, 2024.

- **NAIT's Electronics Engineering Technology program is a nationally accredited and internationally recognized program that provides a comprehensive understanding of the principles of electricity, embedded systems, communications, industrial electronics and problem-solving skills. The program will provide graduates with the skills to perform entry-level roles in several industry disciplines, including installation, testing and maintenance of electronic systems, technical sales, engineering support, quality control and design.

We are looking to fill the following courses:


  • ELTR246
  • Industrial Automation
  • Students will analyze control systems in the context of industrial automation. In particular, generalized processes and/or actuators will be characterized for their performance. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), through ladder logic and functional blocks, will be used to control these processes.

ELTR Sensors & Controllers

  • Students will learn to program algorithms in LabVIEW to interface with various sensors with respect to their role in control system operations. General sensor characteristics will be analyzed, as well as related control system performance and operation. Controller creation and design to satisfy predetermined control system specifications will also be explored.

Contract Instruction Deliverables:


  • Provide direct classroom/lab instruction while utilizing appropriate instructional strategies to maximize student motivation and learning in a skillbuilding environment;
  • Evaluate the learning process: Ensure learning is evaluated in a reliable and timely manner, providing appropriate and timely feedback to students; Submit marks/records promptly;
  • Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Respond to student issues.
  • Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions

Qualifications:


  • Electronics Engineering Technology diploma (preferred) or a related Technology Diploma with several years of related experience is required
  • Industry experience in design using relevant codes and software
  • Related work experience in several of the following areas: data communications, communications, embedded programming, Programmable Logic Controllers, PC Board layout and control systems
  • Familiarity with CODESYS and LabView an asset
  • Consideration of flexibility to work in both a virtual (online) and in person environment
  • Teaching experience would be an asset

Remuneration:
$99/hour.

  • This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement_
