    Description

    As a Food Labelling Regulatory Specialist, you play a key role in developing food labels to help bring new products to market Together with your Compliance team members, and working with Research, Development & Technology team, ingredient suppliers and Marketing, you will influence product design decisions to ensure that packaging and labels meet Market-specific regulatory requirements.

    This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of product commercialization through end-to-end execution, helping make sure consumers have great tasting and compliant Maple Leaf products.

    As part of the Compliance team, you will leverage your education and regulatory knowledge to ensure accuracy and completeness of technical information related to ingredients, product formulations, nutrition and allergens.

    You will create mandatory label copy using software and ensure adherence to regulation and standards for Canadian and US markets, as well as work with suppliers to ensure the proper documentation of all incoming materials is obtained.

    ~ Regulatory Guidance

    As a subject matter expert, you will advise and provide regulatory guidance to internal business units on new product innovation, regulatory interpretation, claim validation and the promotion of nutritional attributes.

    As a Regulatory specialist you will manage a specific product category and you will be responsible for attending project meetings and providing regulatory support to Research, Development & Technology and Marketing teams.

    You will also answer consumer, sales, marketing or regulatory-related nutrition and ingredient inquiries of new and existing products.
    ~ You will support the packaging design process by reviewing claims and label artwork to ensure compliance before labels go to print. As a Regulatory specialist you will also provide suggestions and alternatives to mandatory labelling copy placement on product labels.
    ~ You will support compliance analytics and metrics to ensure ingredient and claims certifications are up to date and Marketing Operations Vitals are presented and communicated with efficiency. You have a minimum of 2 years' experience navigating through the Canadian and US regulatory landscape as it relates to food labelling. Meat and poultry meat regulatory labelling experience is an asset. You are a performance-driven, critical thinker, with a bias for action, who is results driven with a proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. A high level of proficiency with computer databases and systems (SAP, including ECP and RD, is an asset) and the ability to quickly learn new programs are essential.
