WORK ILLUSTRATION:

The Operation Support Services Analyst is responsible for the effective business operations within the Assets Attachments & Leases group.

Its core responsibilities include; data gathering, data analysis, identifying gap/variance/trend, conducting research and preparing reports, lead or support department projects and programs, managing all internal and external communications regarding attachment transfers, working with internal stakeholders and external third parties to investigate and resolve potential conflicts, equipment deficiencies, system improvement, outstanding equipment removals and providing recommendations against findings to support departmental performance objectives.

The Analyst will also provide recommendations against findings to support departmental performance objectives, identify and implement continuous improvement to processes, reporting and systems.

The role provides support to leaders in the day-to-day operations of the group, while also leading strategic projects, making strategic recommendations, making presentations and engage and implement recommendations.


The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide oversight and financial support to the Assets Attachments and Leases group.
  • Provide support in the effective daily operation of the warehouse department.
  • Prepares and analyzes departmental KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and scorecards
  • Prepares reports pertaining to project/program status and outcomes in addition to daily and monthly reporting of warehouse metrics
  • Identifies gaps and variances (plan vs. actual) and provides timely, accurate reporting on a periodic or adhoc basis and sustainable options for continuous business improvement
  • Prepare & compile recurring financial data for accruals, capitalization of completed projects
  • Leads the preparation of annual budgets, estimates, data forecasts, and provides recommendations to leaders as applicable.
  • Leads and/or supports assigned departmental projects and programs. Conduct research and studies, perform analysis and provide recommendations, and manage project through to implementation and postevaluation.
  • Support Grid Emergency Management, equipment deficiencies as it relates to Supply Chain and Third-Party attachments.
  • Support agreement negotiation process, billing and invoicing
  • Conducts financial analysis and investigate any financial irregularities
  • Professionally, engage, communicate, redirecting, investigate and resolve customer/third party inquiries, issues, requests and concerns.
  • Monitors, tracks, gathers, analyzes and delivers data and generates recommendations for decision making; conduct cost benefit studies and develop business cases
  • Support various internal/external audits and inspections as required
  • Assist in the identification, creation, development and maintenance of business process flows and establish governing performance standards
  • Collaborating with other groups surrounding material, construction scheduling, design issues, equipment deficiencies, transaction support, onsite support etc.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business preferred, or in Operations Management or Operations Research considered an asset
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in business process redesign, analysis for business projects, identification of areas for improvement and development of new initiatives
  • Class G Driver's license required
  • Proficient in data management practices and capable of extracting, querying, and handling large (i.e. hundreds of thousands of records) amounts of data
  • Fully proficient in use of MS Office (Excel
  • Intermediate/Advanced level), MS Project
  • Knowledge of SAP would be considered as an asset.
  • Awareness of project management processes, principles and methodologies
