the challenge
To work closely with and engage staff and departments across the agency in developing and executing fund development activities. Contribute to annual campaigns and donor stewardship, and ensure the donor database is carefully maintained. Serve and as an advocate and steward of RISE Awards to securing sponsors, activating sponsorships and engaging community


the opportunity

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive fund development strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and funding organizations.
  • Research and pursue funding opportunities from various sources, including grants, corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and fundraising events.
  • Execute fundraising campaigns and events, ensuring effective donor stewardship and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to create impactful fundraising materials and donor communications.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and generate regular reports to track fundraising progress, donor engagement, and stewardship and outcomes.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in fund development to identify new opportunities for growth.

what is takes


While all backgrounds will be considered, the most helpful history will involve lived experience, knowledge, training and education in non-profit management, fundraising or other business discipline, and 5 years direct experience in non-profit fundraising with a proven track record.

AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) membership and possession or pursuit of a CRFE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) designation is considered an asset.

  • Excellent relationshipbuilding and networking abilities to engage potential donors and sponsors, culturally aware and able to liaise with community groups in culturally relevant ways.
  • Detailoriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficient in using fundraising software and CRM systems. The role will mainly interface with Keela and Microsoft Office 36
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Passionate about the organization's mission and dedicated to making a positive impact in the community.
