Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement effective Japanese language lesson plans tailored to the needs and proficiency levels of individual students or groups.
- Deliver engaging and interactive Japanese language classes, incorporating various instructional strategies, resources, and technologies.
- Teach fundamental language skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing, while focusing on vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and cultural aspects.
- Assess students' language proficiency and progress through regular evaluations, tests, and assignments.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students, helping them improve their language skills and overcome challenges.
- Develop and adapt teaching materials, resources, and curriculum to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and cultural appreciation.
- Stay up to date with advancements in language teaching methodologies, resources, and technologies, and integrate them into teaching practices when appropriate.
- Collaborate with other instructors, and coordinators to enhance the overall language learning experience and support student success.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and grades.
Qualifications:
- Native fluency in the Japanese language.
- Bachelor's degree in Japanese Language, Linguistics, Education, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Japanese language instructor, preferably in an educational or language learning institution.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and cultural nuances.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging and interactive lesson plans and teaching materials.
- Experience in using technology, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and multimedia resources to enhance language instruction.
- Ability to assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Patient, adaptable, and passionate about teaching Italian to learners of various backgrounds and proficiency levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural environment.
Part-time hours:2-10 per week
Salary:
$22.00-$27.00 per hour
Schedule:
Evening shift, Monday to Friday
Teaching Experience:2 years (preferred)
*Required to teach for both on-campus and online teaching when needed.
