Job Summary

Organizational Status


The incumbent will report to the principal investigator on a weekly basis and will also report regularly to the Research Coordinator.

There will be frequent interaction and collaboration with other research team members, trainees, administrative assistants in her lab.

Work Performed

  • Conducts basic literature research utilizing multiple databases and resources.
  • Assists with data collection, preparation of study materials, transcription, and coding.
  • Maintains research related records and databases, entering data according to established protocols.
  • Attends meetings related to the project, prepare agendas, and take minutes.
  • Maintains project technology, equipment, and materials to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Assists with developing reports for funders.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Consequence of Error/Judgement

Inattention to paperwork detail (errors on forms) and research protocol could jeopardize the results of the project.

Inappropriate judgement exercised by the incumbent could result in a wastage of time and other resources, breaches of privacy / confidentiality, and negatively impact the reputation of the research team and the university.

Supervision Received

The Research Assistant will be co-supervised by Dr. Skye Barbic and Dr. Shelly Ben-David. The Research Assistant will mostly work independently, but there will be regular communication and interaction with the Research Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduation and a minimum one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
