Langley School District is seeking applicants for the position of Casual Labourers.

Reporting to the Maintenance and/or Transportation Supervisor, these employees will perform a variety of tasks related to the Maintenance and/or Transportation Department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists with transportation of furniture and equipment within the School District.
Repairs chairs, tables, and other furniture, as required.
Assists with laying drain and septic tiles.
Operates a grounds vehicle and trailer.
Digs, cleans out and fill ditches.
Cuts and trims grass.
Checks areas before cutting for rocks, bottles, etc.
Mixes, moves and pours cement.
Assists roofer as required.
Operates tools and equipment of the trade.
Respond to emergency situations as requested.
Inspects (daily) and operates a service vehicle.
Performs other assigned comparable duties which are within the scope of knowledge, skills and abilities required by this class specification.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Completion of Grade 10.
B.C. Driver's License.
Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy and tact in the routine exchange or provision of information.
Physical ability to perform the required duties.
Resume, Cover letter, and 3 professional references
Proof of completion of grade 10 (Transcript, or Dogwood certificate)
A copy of your BC Driver's license and recent Driver's abstract
