Mohawk College is currently recruiting for our nextInternational Admissions Representative - Check In
Reporting to the Manager, International Admissions, this position provides operational support and assistance to the International Admissions department.
As a primary point of contact for Mohawk students regarding admissions, the incumbent must be able to respond to, investigate and resolve a diverse number of inquiries from students, staff, faculty and other departments.
Responsibilities:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Application Processing:
- Maintaining both hard copy (paper) and computer based applicant files, maintaining database to track applicants, offers extended, denied, etc.
- Processing the applicant's confirmation of acceptance, notifying applicants of required fees, and inputting the information into the International SIS.
- Checking Banner, International SIS and Cognos reports to ensure that the applicant has been identified correctly as an international student and, in the event of inaccurate data, entering the correct information.
Communications
- Acts as a primary contact for the College for international applicant inquiries and provides interpretation and advice on policies as well as promoting the college's programs
Qualifications:
- A minimum of two year postsecondary education in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related fields; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of two years related work experience with emphasis on verbal and written communication and providing customer service. Applied knowledge/experience of Post-Secondary and ESL programs, as well as College services is required. Banner experience is highly preferred. Credential review training through World Education Service (WES) or Education Credential Evaluations (ECE) would be an asset.
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.
