Specialized Services Oversight Program is responsible for the development, implementation and management of provincial oversight programs which address access, quality and funding needs for resource intense, highly complex cancer treatment services.

Reporting to the Manager, the Lead, Implementation will work alongside other clinical program areas such as the Provincial Drug Reimbursement Programs, Informatics and Digital Excellence, to achieve the programs goals and objectives.

They use advanced problem solving skills, business skills, verbal and written communication skills, and relationship building skills. They must have a solid understanding of tools and approaches for managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects. They must have the flexibility to lead a diverse, matrixed team to deliver solutions.

Here is what you will be doing:

  • Supports the Manager in delivering one or more programs or projects within the Specialized Services Oversight Program to achieve program objectives.
  • Works with the Manager to define objectives and standards, prioritize key activities, assign accountabilities and develop deliverables-
  • Lead all aspects of implementation of new services and program expansion and operational management, includes working closely with experts, broad stakeholder consultations, conducting provincial needs assessments and environmental scans, and evaluating the program process and outcomes-
  • Works with stakeholders to identify and develop program direction and improvement initiatives-
  • Manages program and project issues and risks by reaffirming expectations and taking early action to identify, track and resolve potential problems and escalates to Manager as appropriate; maintain clear, detailed project management documents-
  • Oversees the development of volume funding agreements to support new project implementations for specialized cancer services including information gathering, allocations, updating agreement terms and working with internal and external stakeholders for the successful execution of agreements, contract and performance management
  • Drafts required reports and deliverables for approval by the Manager and Clinical Leads
  • Develops and delivers analysis, reports, business cases, formal letters, presentations, and business cases as necessary for internal and external stakeholders
  • Understands, interprets, and clearly communicates complex data analysis and results to all levels of stakeholders
  • Develops performance and evaluation indicators (methodologies) and subsequently measurement processes for program performance monitoring
  • Develops resource materials, toolkits and other knowledge transfer communications, to increase program uptake
  • In addition to managing their own programs and projects, the Lead, Implementation also works closely with other team members, and monitors and is knowledgeable of all program initiatives to support alignment across the Specialized Services Oversight programs
  • Effectively coaches and builds strong communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders
  • Oversees program and project-related meetings and ensures achievement of deliverables by actively tracking action items and ensuring follow-up and completion
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience- Master's degree (preferred) or Undergraduate degree in an appropriate discipline (education, health services research, health/business administration, health sciences) or equivalent combination of education and experience- Project management certification is considered an asset;- Five to eight years of overall working experience, including at least three recent years' experience working within the healthcare sector and leading/enabling large-scale strategic projects- Familiarity with clinical areas related to the care of patients with complex hematologi
