What can I expect to do in this role?: In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • maintaining court lists utilizing established scheduling practices
- collecting and compiling statistical reports
- attending court to set dates and monitor case flow
- providing administrative and secretarial services


How do I qualify?:


Mandatory:


  • You are able to type 50 words per minute and dicta skills to Ministry standards (70%)
  • You have a valid driver's license

Judgement and Problem-Solving Skills:


  • You have demonstrated analytical skills to assess data and provide recommendations.
  • You have proven ability to use effective organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet competing deadlines.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:


  • You have the ability to use tact and diplomacy effectively when liaising with stakeholders, including staff, professionals and the public.
  • You have demonstrated ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Analytical Skills:


  • You can assess court caseload and caseload statistics and the use of court facilities and resources.
  • You are able to identify case delays by monitoring the progress of all cases, backlog, disposition of cases, caseload statistics for each court, and court procedures.
  • You can recommend solutions for trial scheduling problems (e.g. pointing out inefficient procedures/practices, suggesting improvements and implementing).

Technical Knowledge and Skills:


  • You have experience with secretarial and office administrative practices.
