We take an active role in working with our home operator partners to promote resident health, staff education, and medication system quality and efficiency.

Position Summary:

As a Pharmacy Assistant , you will report to the Pharmacy Management team. You will work alongside your professional team members and registered staff, directly supporting a group of LTC Homes and Retirement Communities.

The successful applicant will be assisting in maintenance and operations of the Pharmacy as described by the Pharmacy Standards of Practice and work as an integral part of a diverse team under the general direction of the Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacist.

Compensation: $17-$21/hour

Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate's credentials and experience for the role with CareRx.

Your Day to Day:

Pacmed operation (on the job training)

Manual Filling (labelling, compounding)

Shipping medication deliveries

Placing medication orders

Inventory management

Data entry in Kroll software

Phone/ fax communication

Filing

Blister packaging

Other duties as required by pharmacy manager/ operations manager

What You Will Bring to the Team:

Post-Secondary education

Pharmacy Assistant experience preferred but not required

Experience in Long Term Care Pharmacy is a strong asset but not required

Experience in operating PacMed automated pharmacy machine is a strong asset but not required

Ability to work both in a team and independently in a fast-paced environment

Strong attention to detail

Ability to multi-tasking

Strong time management and organizational skills

Hard work ethic

Motivation to learn and grow

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to quickly problem-solve while still maintaining accuracy, attention to detail and compliance with best practices
