The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C.

We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

The LDB has been assigned to distribute, wholesale, and sell non-medicinal cannabis inclusive of a government owned online channel with a mandate to support government's key priorities of protecting public health and safety, promoting social responsibility, and eliminating the illicit market.

Since 2018, the BC Cannabis Stores chain has grown to 39 locations across the province, providing an educational, safe, and socially responsible outlet for the BC public to engage with non-medical cannabis products.

We distribute cannabis to all licensed retail locations across BC and work with licensed producers across Canada to provide a wide product assortment that is centrally distributed.

Cannabis operations within the BCLDB includes the Distribution, Merchandising, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing departments.


About this role:

The Branch operates one Cannabis Distribution Centre.

Under the direction of a supervisor, the Warehouse Worker 3 operates various material handling equipment, including an electric pallet jack, order picker, manual push cart, high-reach forklift, dock-stocker forklift, and picking tug to load and unload trucks and trailers and move product within the DC.


The Warehouse Worker 3 ensures the safe and efficient operation of all material handling equipment certified to operate in a fast-paced distribution environment utilizing a Warehouse Management System based on radio-frequency technology.

Maintains Key Point Indicators (KPIs) set forth by management for short term goals and long term goals, which are monitored and reported by the hour.

Position requirements:


Education and Experience:


  • A minimum of one year of recent (within the last five years), material handling experience in a fastpaced, highvolume distribution/warehouse environment.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience within the Cannabis industry.
  • Experience in a unionized environment.
  • Experience with Tecsys or another Warehouse Management System.
  • Experience within an ecommerce environment.
