Business Systems Analyst - Toronto, Canada - S & C Electric Company
Description
Working in Information Technology's Engineering Systems group requires the ability to work in a global, cross-functional team with mínimal supervision.
As a member of the Engineering Systems Team, the Business Systems Analyst is responsible for providing functional and technical support and training for:Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide oneonone and group training sessions on the use of available engineering systems
- Document process and system test cases
- Perform regular systems and security monitoring, handling backup procedures and helping set up, maintain, and delete user accounts as required.
- Understand the project management process and responsibilities as a team member.
- Communicate status, issues, and resolutions to business clients, supervision, and project managers.
- Follow established standard work and best practices while developing and maintaining relevant procedures and standards. ensuring that hardware and systems work as expected and archives are maintained as needed.
- Develop relationships with technology suppliers to influence the direction of products and services based on S&C business requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in engineering or 3 year's equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in Information Technology
- Knowledge of and experience supporting Computer-Aided Design (CAD) systems, preferably Solid Edge, AutoCAD, and MicroStation
- Knowledge of and experience supporting assembledtoorder and engineeredtoorder Bill of Material configurations and design automation systems
- Familiarity with engineering analysis methods
- Initiative to remain current with new design and engineering features/technologies
- Experience working closely with business clients and IT groups to implement solutions that meet business needs
- Experience handling support calls
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, analytical, and problemsolving skills with the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and deal with others in a courteous and supportive manner.
- Team player with a 'cando attitude'
- Ability to travel mínimally for 36 meetings and conferences per year.
Physical Effort:
Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 5kg/11lbs
