- Provide leadership and guidance for production employees.
- Organize and maintain an effective workflow.
- Establish departmental procedures and ensure policies and procedures are followed.
- Facilitate and encourage effective communications.
- Identify and address areas of concern and seek solutions for resolution.
- Promote and ensure quality in all aspects of department functions.
- Establish and maintain a healthy working relationship and strong safety culture with supervisors and department employees to ensure compliance for all applicable health and safety regulations.
- Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist Operations Manager in preparing and implementing action plans and continuous improvement strategies.
- Experience supervising in a unionized manufacturing workplace.
- Ability to work rotating shift schedules.
- Post-secondary education with a focus on manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, supply chain management, inventory control, or materials management, would be an asset.
- First Aid, CPR and Emergency First Responder training, or the willingness to receive training.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as excellent customer service orientation.
- Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment with little supervision.
