The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director of Student Services, the incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day operations, budgeting, reporting, and supervision of staff/counsellors within the Counselling/Accessibility Services Office.


The Manager works closely with the appropriate department to investigate complaints that may potentially breach the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Harassment and Discrimination.


The Incumbent is responsible for the day to day operations of the Testing Centre which includes the supervision of testing centre staff, development of policies and procedures, managing revenue and expenditures within a budget, and administering testing agreements with external partners.


The Manager actively participates as a resource on all Violence Threat Risk Assessment cases and is a member of the Student Services management team.


What you need to be successful:

  • four-year degree in Human Resources, Social Work, Psychology, Justice Studies, or a related field
- minimum 3 to 5 years related work experience in a managerial or support services role
- demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment with the ability to engage and motivate staff
- experience working with, reporting on, and interpreting data
- excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with a variety of internal/external contacts at all levels
- working knowledge of a variety of software, including MS Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams
- strong organizational skills, time management and project planning and management skills
- strong commitment to student support and success
- records management experience
- demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
- knowledge of the Ontario College system
- strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills

This is a full-time administrative position. Salary range is $88,307-$110,385 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
