Full-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated June 3, 2024 up to December 23, 2024)
SALARY:
$67,220 - $91,988 per annum
POSITION LOCATION:
Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB)
DUTIES
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager within the Facility Management department, the Technical Officer (Electrical) is responsible to simultaneously plan, develop, and deliver projects ranging from small to multimillion-dollar projects.
The Technical Officer manages all phases of projects including planning, design, tender, construction, occupancy, and project closeout.
In addition to project management, the Technical Officer provides internal consulting services, technical support, manages daily operations, schedules maintenance, and manages contractors to ensure that they follow Federal, Provincial and Municipal regulations, as well as Red River College Polytechnic's policies, procedures, and guidelines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.), or Certified Technician (C.Tech), or Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering construction projects, including developing RFP/RFQ's and the scope of work
- Significant experience planning and managing electrical installations, including power, lighting, CCTV, security, life safety, card access, POE systems, and various data networks
- Experience with maintaining large electrical distributions, UPS, and generators
- Selfmotivated and able to prioritize workload
- Superior verbal and written communication skills and strong customer service skills
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated experience working with Efficiency Manitoba rebates and incentives
- Demonstrated experience working in Facility Management in an institutional environment
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Experience using Project Management software
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- This position may be required to work overtime
- This position may be required to travel
- May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
- Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check
- Incumbent must hold a valid Class 5 Driver's License
