Director of Human
Resources to join our growing team from our downtown Halifax location.
Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, the Director of Human Resources will be responsible
for overseeing the Human Resources operations of the organization and HR team; Hospitality
Human Resources Manager, Payroll Manager, Talent Acquisition Specialist, and Recruitment
Advisor.
As Director of Human Resources, you'll get to:
- Monitoring legislative changes and recommending corresponding changes to corporate
- Understanding market drivers for recruitment and modifying strategic recruitment
- Provide guidance and training to supervisory staff on human resources best practices.
- Function as the primary resource for support and guidance on all human resources
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders in creating effective staffing planning, hiring
needs.
- Provide regular reporting to the executive team.
- Develop and implement training programs where reasonable and appropriate.
- Participate as directed in company's joint occupational health and safety program.
- Demonstrates leadership skills by embodying the company's policies and procedures in
- Full engagement in program delivery by social committee to ensure positive employee
What we're looking for:
- Undergraduate degree, certificate or diploma with a focus in human resources or a
- CPHR designation or advanced degree is considered an asset.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience within the field of HR.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Effective precise communicator with an enate ability to bring out the best in people.
- Exemplary understanding of and commitment to confidentiality.
- Prior experience in policy development, employee training, recruitment, succession
