Description

Key Responsibilities:

Acquire goods and services needed to satisfy manufacturing planning
Track orders and ensure timely delivery and solve challenges with vendors to meet production requirements. Partner with production on solutions to mitigate any risks or delays
Monitor shortages, manage and audit inventory
Reduce part cost while improving quality and delivery times
Expedite goods delivery when necessary
Negotiate pricing and contracts with vendors, while maintaining positive working relationships
Monitor and analyze vendor performance and recommend corrective actions if necessary
Qualify vendors and components
Facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR)
Source new and alternative suppliers for existing and new components
Work closely and collaborate with other business units to find solutions and resolve any issues
Think strategically and recommend options and implement best practices
Stay updated on industry trends and innovations to enhance strategies
Communicate with overseas suppliers outside regular working hours as required

Requirements and Skills:

University, College, or Technical Post-Secondary education.
1 to 3 years of buying experience
Experience with AX or D365 systems (asset)
Experience purchasing goods and services
Experience negotiating with suppliers.
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage timelines and deadlines effectively
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Team player with a customer focused approach
Experience with standardized and methodical approach to data management
Capable of thinking strategically and tactically to find and fix root causes of problems
High sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing needs
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
