We are looking for motivated individuals in Aquatics Supervisor position who are available Full-time from April 2024 to October 2024 (weather dependent) or until the end of the pool season.

The Position:


Reporting to the Fitness & Aquatics Manager, the Aquatics Supervisor will perform his/her duties to ensure the overall operation in the Pool department runs safely, efficiently, and productively according to Donalda Club Standards.

The incumbent will be responsible for performing regular lifeguard duties including guarding and instructing while also taking on supervisory/administration duties in the pool department and ensuring excellent member service.


An Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervises the overall operation of swimming pool and pool staff. This includes all lifeguards, pool staff and any personnel doing maintenance on the pool
  • Responsible for training new staff
  • Responsible to prepare work schedules, work rosters and cleaning schedules for all pool staff.
  • Handle any questions or complaints guests and members may have to ensure an enhanced experience
  • Evaluate the pool experience on an ongoing basis and recommend methods of improving the facility
  • Execute regular inspections on all service areas and equipment to ensure a clean, safe and above standard environment for members, guests and staff
  • Ensures and maintains a safe and clean swimming pool for use by all Donalda members and guests
Lifesaving/Instructing

  • Enforces all swimming pool rules established by Donalda Club management and board of directors.
  • Teaches private lessons to Donalda members
  • Maintains up to date lifesaving and instructing qualifications, taking the initiative to recertify when necessary
  • Maintains effective communication with fellow lifeguard at all times.

Job Specifications/Qualifications Required:


  • Pool hours are from 5:45am until 8:15pm so shifts may fall anywhere within that range
  • Completion of High School Education (Grade 12) is required
  • Standard First Aid & CPR C
  • Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Certification and Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certification
  • Advanced Aquatics Instructor Certifications (Lifesaving Society Lifesaving Instructor, Bronze Examiner, National Lifeguard Instructor/Examiner, SFA Instructor/Examiner) is required
  • Knowledge of operation of pool equipment is required
  • Minimum 4 years of aquatic experience
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory position as a Head Lifeguard/Aquatics Supervisor
  • Must be able to work under pressure while maintaining composure and performance standard during busy peak periods
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills are required
  • Private Club Experience is an asset and preferred
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be wellgroomed, mannerly, friendly and team oriented to ensure a good experience for members and guests
  • Must have a G/G2
