Description

Under the direction of the VP, Financial Reporting, the Manager, Internal Reporting will play a key role in internal financial reporting, technical accounting matters, and process improvement.


Within the scope of this position, the Manager, Internal Reporting takes on a key role to continually provide an environment promoting a culture of resident safety and freedom from harm and injury.

CORE OUTCOMES

  • Reviews monthly financial reporting to ensure the financial information is completed on a timely and accurate basis, including but not limited to,
  • Monthly financial statements and variance reports,
  • Cashflow reporting and projections
  • Leads monthly site reviews and summarizes any risks or areas of concern
  • Assists with the completion of site operating budgets
  • Leads the monthend and yearend, close process
  • Supports integration of newly acquired sites through training on financial review process
  • Prepares ad hoc financial analysis reports for stakeholders
  • Provides leadership and guidance on areas requiring financial expertise as necessary with various sites/locations.
  • Works collaboratively with the external reporting team to meet all reporting deadlines
  • Participates in external audits
  • Provides financial reporting guidance and training on relevant systems and processes
  • Responsible for maintaining strong internal controls and suggest improvements
  • Prepares and updates financial policies and procedures
  • Directly supervises and mentor team members
  • Motivates team and leads by example

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Responsible to acquire and maintain the knowledge and skills required to fulfill this role including maintaining an indepth knowledge of industry trends and best practices
  • Demonstrates a high standard of professionalism, integrity, loyalty, dedication, personal credibility and ethics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Experience

  • Ten (10) years of finance / accounting experience and five (5) years of people management experience
  • Experience in Workday is considered an asset
Education/Designation Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Accounting / Finance Management or a related field is required
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation is required
