Are you excited about leveraging data to drive the strategic priorities and shape the future success of organizations? Consider this position in the Highway Operations Management Branch, part of the Ministry of Transportation's Operations Division.


The Operations Division provides leadership related to ministry transportation activities by developing operational policies, providing end-user focused services for the transportation network, and maintaining and operating assets, infrastructure and services.

The Division also plays a pivotal role in building and managing transportation-related stakeholder relationships and partnerships in the province and advocating for regional needs.


This role offers a unique opportunity to combine your technical knowledge and business acumen to establish and manage a data and information vision, strategy, and roadmap across our division.

What can I expect to do in this role?: In this role, you will:

  • Lead and manage project teams in the delivery of new/updated digital/data systems, products and services, and changes to existing programs/initiatives/projects.
  • Work collaboratively with ministry teams, external consultants, and senior management as a divisional lead
  • Plan and deliver continuous improvements and internal communications initiatives to support changes
  • Conduct and lead research, analysis and planning

How do I qualify?:


Technical Knowledge and Business Acumen:


  • You have knowledge of business lifecycle management, business modelling, process methodology, prototyping methodologies and reengineering methods
  • You have knowledge of data management and quantitative analysis to research, develop and evaluate business solutions and information management needs
  • You can align strategic directions and business objectives to projects

Project and Performance Management:


  • You have experience leading project teams and ensuring deadlines, budget and deliverables are met

Research, Analysis and Issues Management Skills:

  • You can conduct qualitative, quantitative, financial and statistical analyses, identify impacts and develop recommendations
  • You can research, investigate and assess relevance of information
  • You have experience identifying, and ensuring the effective resolution of, issues

Interpersonal and Communication Skills:


  • You have facilitation and relationshipbuilding skills to build partnerships and deliver advice and information
  • You have persuasion and consulting skills to gain cooperation and promote projects and initiatives
  • You can effectively deliver presentations and communicate with a variety of audiences
