DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Maintenance of case costing database and preparation of OCC submission files.
  • Coordinating activities and processes in various departments simultaneously to maintain, update and/or upgrade information within the case costing system.
  • Developing reporting processes/products that provide insightful analysis to support the business and clinical needs of the organization.
  • Designing and implementing solutions as necessary to data flow issues.
  • Implementing costing process refinements that enhance data quality, understanding data flow processes and its impact on costing results.
  • Providing broad corporate support, education and training where case costing information may be utilized.
  • Maintaining and developing Harris HealthCare Affinity Decision Support (ADS) case costing system, database structures and tables.
  • Administering Ontario Case Costing Standards (OCC) and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Computer, Health Sciences or related discipline required.
  • Minimum two years similar work experience in a Hospital setting required, including experience with OCC methodology, financial and statistical analysis and project management.
  • Proficiency at an advanced level in Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word and Access).
  • Working knowledge of Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards (OHRS)/ MIS/OCDM.
  • Database management skills, including advanced skills with SQL, Crystal Reports and Access.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal/collaboration, and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, manage own time and take initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Satisfactory attendance record.
