Compensation Information:

$95,000.00 per annum


Physical Requirements:


  • Sedentary; Work activities involve handling loads up to 5 kg predominately in an indoor setting.
  • This role requires the ability to safely: ski or snowboard; DH or Enduro Bike Ride
  • This job position requires physical presence at the designated location and some travel will be required.

Accountabilities:

Strategic Direction and Execution: Drive the marketing direction for Sun Peaks Resort and the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel through strategic development and tactical execution of key objectives.

Integration of Marketing and Communications: Assist in guiding strategy and integration between marketing and communication campaigns and tactics to best achieve the business goals of both the resort and hotel.

Business Unit Marketing Oversight: Provide marketing oversight for all key business units, including ski, bike, hike, golf, food and beverage, rental and retail, sports school, accommodation, and events.

Paid Media Management: Develop and manage all paid media activity through planning, budgeting, negotiation, execution, and evaluation efforts.

Performance Monitoring: Monitor progress and submit performance reports.

Content Development: Oversee content development strategy and execution.

E-commerce and Web Management: Oversee the strategy, platform, and execution of e-commerce initiatives. Manage web development efforts and ensure ongoing website optimization to enhance user experience and performance.

Creative and Brand Development: Lead the creative direction and brand development functions, ensuring that all marketing materials, campaigns, and digital content align with Sun Peaks Resort's brand identity. Foster innovation in visual and verbal communications to enhance brand visibility and coherence across all platforms.

Metrics and Analytics: Manage and optimize key metrics and analytics within the marketing space to ensure data-driven decision-making and strategic alignment.

Marketing Services Oversight: Oversee the marketing services function throughout the organization.

Stakeholder Engagement: Lead vendor and third-party relationships, negotiations, and contracts. Partner relations and engagement throughout the organization, community, and industry.

Support Communication Tactics: Support all key communication tactics through various shared efforts.

Social Media Oversight:_ _Stay updated with trends and adapt strategies as necessary. Support the team in producing strategic content and analyze social media campaign results to refine future tactics.

Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work throughout the organization with multiple departments/business units.

Leadership and Autonomy: Role model our values, and work with a high degree of autonomy as a key member of the leadership team. Financial and personnel management responsibilities throughout the marketing team.

Community Engagement: Contribute to the external community engagement strategy.

Policy Development Assistance: Assist with the development of departmental policies and procedures.

Diversity and Inclusion in Marketing: Ensure that all marketing efforts reflect Sun Peaks Resort's commitment to diversity and inclusion. Develop and implement strategies that incorporate DEI principles into all aspects, from language and visual identity to audience engagement, to represent and connect authentically with our guests.

Compliance and Training: Operate according to the code of conduct and values statement of Sun Peaks Resort and attend all sponsored orientation and training programs.

General Duties: Other duties as required to ensure successful operation of the departments and the organization.

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in marketing, including at least 5 years in a leadership position with strategic oversight.
  • Degree in marketing, commerce, or a related field, with advanced knowledge in digital marketing and creative project management.
  • Proven management skills supported by a strong business acumen and ability to lead crossfunctional teams effectively.
  • Skilled relationship manager with the ability to build collaborative partnerships with industry stakeholders.
  • Experienced in executing detailed, integrated marketing campaigns across various platforms.
  • Resultsoriented, with a keen focus on metrics, analytics, and performance reporting, adept at managing multiple projects under tight deadlines and monitoring key performance indicators.
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment and is adept at working across various platforms, including digital and traditional media.
  • Familiar with mountain resort products and the competitive landscape.
  • Previous ski resort experience considered an asset.
  • A passion for outdoor recreation, such as skiing, snowboarding, biking, and golf, is considered an asset.
  • Highly proficient in computer
