**Career Opportunity: Social Media Producer (Bilingual)
Join CPAC to build on 30 years of unfiltered access to Canadian democracy. The Cable Public Affairs Channel is the only national bilingual media outlet focused exclusively on politics.


The Role:


Accountability:

Works under the direction of the Executive Producer to produce engaging online content that showcases CPAC's flagship shows.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • In accordance with CPAC's editorial priorities and principles: select, edit, package, post & optimize content for social media platforms.
  • Monitor interviews and news sources to identify appropriate content for publication as digitalfirst video and/or social media posts.
  • Research and write descriptions and other metadata for social media posts & captions.
  • Work with the Executive Producer to ensure all editorial content meets CPAC's journalistic and technical standards.
  • Track, compile, analyze & report on social media engagement metrics.

Qualifications (knowledge, skills and experience required):

  • A degree or diploma in journalism, TV production or related discipline plus two years of comparable/relevant media experience.
  • A strong understanding of journalism practices and news broadcast standards.
  • Fully bilingual in English and French (written & spoken).
  • Advanced knowledge of social media & digital platforms.
  • Excellent research, writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to work to exacting standards & meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and weekends as required.
  • Proven ability to increase online presence and social media offering.
  • A keen interest in politics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Independent, selfmotivated, and versatile.
  • Must upgrade technical skills as required.
