Job Description_
So, what will your new role look like?_
As our first Desktop Administrator, you'll be taking full ownership of Modern Desktop Manager (MDM) at GSoft. You'll be responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, and management of our end-user computing technology. Also, you'll be delivering continuous improvement, innovation, and automation by implementing the latest standards of modern-desktop-management throughout the organization. Furthermore, you'll also be responsible for upholding end-user workstation performance, security, and compliance.

Here are some of the projects and responsibilities you'll be undertaking:

  • Performing a full discovery of our Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) and Jamf Pro/Connect environments.
  • Analysis, addition and modification of existing configuration profiles and policies.
  • Reviewing and enforcing enduser device compliance.
  • Management of endpoint OS and software patching.
  • Collaborating with our IT Security team to increase device security and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Working with our IT support team to automate and streamline support efforts.
  • Reviewing and maintaining device inventory using automation.
  • Building customized PowerShell scripts for process automation.

What does your future team look like?
A team of nine experts, split amongst two teams; IT support and IT Infrastructure. You'll be joining the latter. These teams ensure the continuity of operations of GSoft and its products.

  • What are the newest challenges awaiting your team?_
  • Over the next 12 months, the IT team will need to substantially increase its efforts to improve enduser device security, compliance, and management.
  • Multiple other projects are dependent on the successful rollout of certain MDM features such as the Microsoft Company Portal, Microsoft Store, removal of localadmin rights, automated software patching, device compliance, and more.

Qualifications:


  • Expert Proficiency using Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) for Windows+Linux device management;
  • Superior Proficiency using Jamf Pro and Jamf Connect for macOS device management;
  • Advanced PowerShell (with Graph API) scripting for administration, automation of processes, and issue resolution;
  • Experience with Windows/Mac apppackaging and distribution;
  • Experience administering AzureAD and M365.
