Description

The part-time Maintenance Person performs general maintenance duties with an emphasis on quality and preventative maintenance.

He/she repairs and maintains hotel guestrooms along with the internal and external common areas in accordance with brand standards for quality, cleanliness, guest satisfaction, safety and security.

Main Duties:

Assist with grounds keeping and maintaining a clean, kept appearance of the hotel exterior. This could include exterior cleaning, garbage removal and gardening.
Assist with special projects and renovations when needed.
Perform routine maintenance throughout the property, to include painting, carpet/floor cleaning, etc.
Perform minor repairs and/or replacements of room furniture, fixtures, and equipment to include light fixtures, etc.
Conduct monthly and bimonthly fire & sprinkler gauge drills.
Resolve any maintenance issues listed in the daily maintenance log.

Other duties as directed by hotel managers.

Responsibilities:

Perform preventative maintenance as directed.
Resolve minor maintenance issues quickly and effectively.
Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other hotel employees.

Ability to work weekends.
Organizational Skills.
Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
Ability to be proactive without constant instruction.
Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
Ability to evaluate and solve problems accurately and efficiently.
Ability to work well in stressful, highpressure situations.
Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
Minor Renovations & General Maintenance.
Can effectively handle problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing and solving problems as necessary.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, painting, HVAC, electrical, general repair skills.

Education:
Required: High School Diploma/GED

Other Requirements:

Valid Driver's License.
Must have basic maintenance tools.
Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
Must be able to walk and climb/descend stairs frequently throughout the day.
Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance and a maximum of 140 pounds with assistance.
Ability to periodically kneel, crawl, and twist torso as needed to accomplish required tasks.
