OPPORTUNITY:
This is an 18-month fixed term opportunity. You will report to the Manager, Client Communication and support the creation and continuous improvement of world-class client service and strategic communication initiatives
THE DEPARTMENT:
The Corporate & Investor Relations (CIR) department is the corporate face and voice to BCI's external and internal audiences.
CIR functions as the primary interface with our clients and strives to internally represent their specific interests and unique needs.
CIR works closely with governing fiduciaries and trustees and, working with our BCI colleagues, assists clients with developing their investment strategies, policies, and objectives.
CIR also develops and implements communication strategies for client, external, and internal audiences; for example, working closely with our asset classes to communicate and explain investment strategies.
BCI relies on CIR to be accountable for:
- Supporting stakeholder satisfaction and client retention
- Influencing clients' investment policy decisions
- Advocating and representing clients' and other stakeholders' interests
- Leading corporate messaging and acting as its spokesperson
- Managing BCI's brand and reputation.
THE TEAM
Within CIR, the Client Partnerships team is accountable for managing and strengthening individual business relationships with BCI's institutional investors to help achieve client investment objectives and needs.
The team is responsible for:
developing client engagement strategies; proactive outreach; communication; client satisfaction; retention strategies; and counsel.
They regularly provide investment briefings and presentations and offer investment policy advice to help ensure BCI remains our clients' trusted investment manager of choice.
Within Client Partnerships, the Client Experience team is accountable for deepening BCI's relationships across its client base through broad engagement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Postsecondary education, preferably in communications, marketing, business, or journalism
- Three to five years experience in stakeholder communications or investor relations, preferably in the investment or financial services sector
- Completion of the CFA Institute Investment Foundations Program or the Canadian Securities Course will be an asset
SKILLS:
- Superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Experience with digital marketing, related tools, and audience engagement
- Strong project management skills with the ability to work under pressure in a deadlinedriven and complex work environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and work collaboratively with colleagues and external service providers
- Fundamental understanding of investment concepts and practices preferred
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Assist with the development and ongoing operation of The Exchange (BCI's client portal)
- Plan and implement a usercentric marketing strategy targeting multiple audiences
- Promote and champion the portal with internal stakeholders
- Lead the development of targeted marketing collateral (e.g., articles, newsletters, and videos)
- Lead the tracking, analysis, and reporting of website analytics to drive traffic and engagement
- Assist with the continuous improvement of the portal's user experience
- Coordinate the development of new features and functionality with external development team
- Act as the first point of contact for user requests and troubleshooting
Special Projects- Implement special projects aligned with BCI's client communication program- Support the planning and execution of BCI's client events, as needed- Support process improvement initiatives, as needed
