Parts Technician
We are hiring a talented Parts Technician to join our team.
The Parts Technician position is responsible for over seeing operation of the entire parts department as well as all supply chain activities for all of Ascent Transport.
Responsibilities:
- Looking up proper parts using parts systems and breakdowns to identify parts required.
- Quoting parts as required on service orders. This includes obtaining pricing from multiple vendors to ensure we are getting the best parts at the best price. Negotiations of maximum volume discounts with vendors.
- Ordering parts, utilizing purchase order system in full bay.
- Receiving parts and allocating to inventory or service jobs as required.
- Completing all workflow within Fullbay to manage parts on service orders. (Quoting, ordering, receiving as well as closing out parts specific service orders)
- Over the counter parts sales and invoicing.
- Returning cores and unused parts to vendors.
- Maintain shop supply inventory and tracking supply usage by employees.
Managing New and Used Parts Inventories
- Maintain clean and organized inventory storage of both new and used parts.
- Regular inventory cycle counts.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels for parts demand to minimize internal service delays without carrying excessive inventory volumes. (Min/Max order trigger points)
- List used and slowmoving parts onto Fullbay pages to increase inventory turnover and part sales revenue.
- Manage parts promotions and specials for 3rd party customers.
Managing Trucking Supplies and Rigging Inventory.
- Sourcing trucking supplies and rigging for Transportation department.
- Maintaining appropriate inventory levels of both supplies and rigging.
- Billing supplies and rigging to appropriate units and drivers for tracking purposes.
- Managing rigging exchanges for new rigging
- Damaged rigging must be supplied in exchange for new rigging.
- Keeping a clean and organized inventory area.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Journeyman Parts Technician
- Minimum of 5 years experience.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Heavy Duty Truck and Trailer Experience.
- Automotive Experience.
- Skid Steer experience considered to be an asset.

$30.00-$40.00 per hour
