Royal Vancouver Yacht Club (RVYC) is one of the world's premier yacht clubs and one of the finest in Vancouver.

Our philosophy at RVYC is to provide excellent Member & Guest services in all that we do. We are looking for an Assistant Pasty Chef to work with our dynamic BOH team. The Assistant Pastry Chef will report to the Pastry Chef and Executive Chef.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Assist Pastry Chef with planning, food preparation and cooking activities
  • Assist with consulting with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions
  • Assist Pastry Chef with planning menus and ensuring food meets quality standards and coming up with new concepts for sushi
  • Assist with estimates for food requirements and food costs on a regular basis, and for special guests or functions
  • Assist Chef in training and supervising kitchen helpers as necessary
  • Assist with requisition of food, specialty items and kitchen supplies
  • Assist Chef with planning and executing monthly events, including training guests on preparing specialty dishes during specialty events as necessary
  • Prepare, clean and organize ingredients for use in the kitchen; ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times

Education and Experience Requirements:


  • Minimum completion of High School
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Pastry Chef
  • Ability to work in a team, under pressure, handle multiple priorities and complex tasks simultaneously;
  • Strong work ethic and selfmotivated.
  • FOODSAFE certification is required.
  • Trade certification is an asset (i.e. Red Seal, cwc etc.)
