Role Summary:

This person will report directly to the Cell Line Manager and will be primarily responsible for assembling novel battery cells containing highly advanced materials, using a variety of semi-automated equipment to support lithium-ion battery research work for NOVONIX and our international customers.

Due to the nature of research work, the role requires a high level of skill adaptation and problem-solving capabilities to attain the desired outcome from each project.

Some of the work is done in a climate-controlled environment to ensure we're making high quality products.

In the role of Cell Technician - Dry Room, you will be joining a world-class R&D Services team that is delivering innovative solutions to tough problems.

Responsibilities include:

Preparing electrodes which can include determining the electrode dimensions for unique cell builds
Compress, slit and / or punch electrodes into the form required for assembling battery cells
Using a variety of equipment for welding battery components
Using semiautomated equipment for assembling batteries
Organizing and keeping inventory records for battery materials and work in process
Recording process operating conditions and measurements of inprocess QC data
Working closely with researchers on various internal and customer driven projects, including assisting researchers with finding solutions to nonstandard product builds
Documentation of standard operating procedures
Documentation of cell building records
Writing reports for customer cell builds
Assisting with other cell building activities as required
