Reporting to the Director, Accounting & Reporting Services, the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager contributes to the overall success of Coast Hotels by playing a critical role in all aspects of financial planning, operational reporting, ad hoc financial and business analysis, project management and financial modelling.

This hands-on leadership position is responsible for all aspects of the annual financial planning and budgeting process and for the preparation and provision of timely reporting and forecasting.

The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager leads corporate initiated projects in finance, and will take on specific tasks, assignments, or projects as required.

Responsibilities:

Liaises with finance team and hotel management to develop budgets and forecasts which are aligned to strategic/business objectives.
Manages and prepares the consolidation and reporting of the entire organization during the annual budgeting process.
Reviews and develops procedures and tools to continually improve budgeting, financial projections, and operating forecast.
Identifies and researches variances to forecast, budget, and prioryear expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
Manages the accurate and timely financial reporting process including the preparation of all reports required by the parent company.
Leads the enhancement of systems and databases for all related functions and provide training for new and existing Ambassadors.
Communicates and monitors company policies and practices, clear objectives, targets, and operational quality standards for the centralized accounting department.
Collaborates with Technology team to develop and maintain a strong data strategy that supports future needs for information gathering.
Implements business intelligence tool and dashboard reports.
Provides management team and the heads of department with datadriven analysis as required.
Other duties as requested.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

Bachelor's degree and minimum of five years of progressive work experience in finance or accounting or a related area

Professional designation

CPA or equivalent or working towards is an asset.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
Considerable knowledge of financial, accounting and reporting systems, processes, and controls.
Experience with Adaptive Insights an asset.
Demonstrated experience with ERP systems is a must.
Proficiency with report writer and database query software is an asset.
Superior attention to detail, capacity to learn and accept additional responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication.
Demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organization.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple competing priorities.

Have prior experience in a similar role.
Have sharp technical skills, a strong discipline of organization, and attention to details with high degree of accuracy.
Have good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Be a selfstarter, flexible, with the ability to multitask and work independently with mínimal supervision.
