Position Overview


Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Inventory Supervisor oversees day-to-day receiving and inventory operations including the cycle count program, secondary operations (kitting), inventory allocation and placement.


Responsibilities - Inventory Control/Receiving

  • Implement, oversee and maintain cycle counting program. Investigate and resolve all reported inventory discrepancies. Log and report variances daily. Develop reporting and approval process for all warehouse & management staff.
  • Monitor and ensure accuracy of all inventory transactions and maintain records of all stock locations.
  • Create inventory reports to identify inventory at risk of obsolescence. Work with sales and/or finance to action items either through disposal or sale.
  • Perform location consolidation and reconciliation actions daily.
  • Direct Cycle Count teams to ensure processes and systems deliver high quality and accurate results.
  • Analyze transaction history to optimize item locations within warehouse racking.
  • Coordinate with QA to ensure all quarantine items are segregated and actioned within a reasonable time frame.
  • Supervise the receiving function, ensuring receipts are completed as per company standards and plans are in place to support the accommodation of inbound material.

Responsibilities - Sorting & Kitting

  • Establish work procedures and schedules to ensure secondary operational requirements are planned to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Sales, and Orders teams regarding secondary operation requirements (kitting, packing, sorting) to ensure optimum inventory levels.
  • Notify Sales and Orders teams of any scheduling impacts to customers.

Responsibilities - General

  • Development and reporting of relevant KPIs to the management team (Receiving, Inventory Accuracy, VAS).
  • Development of procedures and training processes in conjunction with the Operations Manager and Shipping Supervisor to ensure adequate crosstraining of staff and coverage.
  • Other duties as requested by Operations Manager.

Education / Experience:


  • Post Secondary degree/diploma in business, logistics, supply chain management or similar.
  • Professional designation in a warehouse management/logistics role (APICS or CITT preferred)
  • Minimum of five years of leadership experience in a warehousing/logistics role.
  • Experience working with inventory management software and forecasting strategies.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective storage and distribution of materials.
