Role Overview:
The position reports to the Senior Manager of Supply Chain Services and works with the Purchasing Team to review buying requirements to enter and place purchase orders.
Role Responsibilities:
- Determine and perform day to day buying requirements for assigned vendors using DRP system.
- Enter and place purchase orders with vendors via appropriate methods.
- Maintain inventory levels such that desired fill rates/weeks on hand is achieved.
- Coordinate issues and missing information with appropriate associate.
- Maintain organized records of open purchase orders with accurate ship dates and costs.
- Expedite and actively follow up on all open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Forecast product replenishment and provide forecasted purchases to vendors.
- Participate in product launch meetings and coordinate product set up with vendors.
- Maintain product information in required systems and logs.
- Advise Senior Manager any anticipated issues including but not limited to items where the ETA is equal to or greater than 50% of the standard lead time.
- Work with Supply Services team to investigate and find solutions to order shortages and delayed shipments, including requesting substitute products from vendors, expediting PO's and finding alternate suppliers.
- Resolve issues with vendor invoices, including but not limited to short shipments, and incorrect billing of items and freight.
- Respond to vendor requests in a timely fashion.
- Process & follow up on sample requests to vendors, ensuring timeliness of delivery and costeffective routing.
- Follow up on any quality complaints for assigned vendors.
- Manage freight and routing of inbound goods.
- Coordinate movement of freight from Freight Forwarder and Sysco Guest Supply
- Ensure accuracy of commercial documents for all imported products, including annual collection of valid CUSMA Certificates.
- Ensure all system costs are current and accurate at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):
- 35 years of experience in purchasing/buyer role
- Highschool diploma
- PMAC student preferred
- Proficient use of PeopleSoft and MS Windows and Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook).
- Detail Oriented
- Attention to details and accuracy.
