    We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Mobile Maintenance Reliability Engineer. Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out position and will be based in Labrador West, NL requiring candidates to work a Monday-Friday schedule.

    Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for improving the operation of Mine Mobile Equipment and solving maintenance problems.
  • Improve and optimize the maintenance program based on the best practices in the mining industry. Provide emphasis on the implementation and optimization of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Determine the means to reduce losses using data from production losses (reliability and availability), failures, breakdowns, and asset maintenance costs. Develop plans to eliminate or reduce these losses via root cause analysis, solution development, and implementation.
  • Help in the management of existing and potential risks to achieve the strategic objectives of the organization regarding health, safety, and environment (HSE), equipment capacity, quality, productivity, and maintenance costs.
  • Determine the strategies to achieve minimum life cycle cost for the asset. This reveals the need for the reliability engineer to participate in the design and installation phases of new assets and modification of existing assets. The reliability engineer must perform evaluations of the residual service life and recommend strategies for refurbishing or replacing assets.
  • Determine the equipment critical spares and perform spare part optimization.
  • Develop, implement and support predictive maintenance programs (Vibration Monitoring, IR, Lubrication Analysis, etc.) to ensure accurate asset life estimations and facilitate maintenance planning.
  • Provide technical support and investigate asset failures to determine root cause(s) and suggest corrective actions.
  • Perform project management functions.
  • Develop KPIs to quantify the performance of developed reliability programs.
  • Major Accountabilities:Collecting Data/Analysis/Reports (20 %)Defect Elimination and Root Cause Analysis (15 %)Asset Management Strategies and Tactics Development (40%)Condition Monitoring/PDM and Hydrocarbon Management (15%)Managing the Asset Life Cycle (10%)
  • Skills and Qualifications:

  • The candidate must possess, at a minimum, a Bachelor's in Engineering.
  • The candidate must be a Member of a Provincial Professional Engineering Organization (Professional Engineer).
  • Must have 2 or more years of heavy industry-related experience.
  • Should have mechanical/electrical aptitude and knowledge of equipment maintenance practices.
  • Must understand the implementation and use of computerized maintenance management systems. (Ellipse/SAP/Maximo).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment.
  • Must possess the ability to function efficiently under pressure.
  • Should be able to demonstrate ownership.
  • Must insist on the highest standards possible.
  • Must demonstrate empathy and concern for fellow team members.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License (Required).
  • The following competencies or certifications will also be highly considered:

  • A certification from the Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (CMRP).
  • Recognized competencies in lubrication and/or condition monitoring (Level 2 Vibration, Level 2 Lubricant Analyst).
  • Experience with implementation and optimization of online condition-based monitoring systems.
  • Project management experience.
  • Recognized competencies in "Reliability Centered Maintenance" analysis and facilitation (RCM).
