Responsibilities:
- Post various client expenses including BCOnline/myLTSA charges, Econveyance fees, couriers, faxes and other miscellaneous client charges
- Cost recovery system import
- Process general and trust account transactions including invested trust
- Reconcile monthly all of the law office's bank account statements and maintain files on each
- Post client accounts receivable payments
- Prepare and make bank deposits
- Process accounts payable and maintain vendor accounts
- Assist in organizing and maintaining accurate records for required retention periods
- Manage all transactions in accordance with the Law Society rules and regulations
- Provide relief coverage during supervisor absences
- Assist staff and lawyers with accounting system training, interpreting accounting reports, etc.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years law firm accounting experience
- Some education related to accounting theory and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with MS Office products with emphasis on Excel
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Willingness to take direction and seek instructions
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle tight deadlines
- Diplomacy and patience in dealing with staff and clients
