    Description
    Reporting to the Manager Perioperative Services, you will beresponsible for providing quality nursing care to

    patients including complex patient populations whose outcomes arenot predictable. As part of a multidisciplinary

    health care team, you will practice within the ProfessionalStandards of the College of Nurses of Ontario, the

    Philosophy of patient and family centered care, mission vision,values and the policies of Thunder Bay Regional

    Health Sciences Centre.

    Applicants must have the following qualifications:

    Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse withthe College of Nurses of Ontario, or the ability to

    become licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario

    Current certification in BCLS

    Recent knowledge in Critical Care Nursing and Postoperativecare of adults and paediatric patients including,

    arterial blood pressure monitoring, fluid resuscitation, regional,spinal, epidural, local and general anaesthetic agents,

    airway and pain management

    Experience caring for procedural sedation patients

    Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning,implementation, evaluation) in conjunction with her/his

    basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized careplanning and delivery

    Knowledge relevant to surgical nursing practice

    Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responsesand take appropriate action

    Ability to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventions

    Strong interprofessional and communication skills

    Central Venous Line Management

    Certification or completion Lead II Arrhythmia InterpretationProgram

    In addition to the above qualifications, preference will be givento applicants who:

    Have a certification, or recent continuing education inPerianesthesia Nursing

    Salary Range: $39.070 to 56.000
