The Opportunity.

Smart & Biggar is currently looking for an experienced Marketing and Communications Manager to join our national Business Development & Marketing team.

As the Marketing andCommunications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing marketing, brand, and communications strategies for both Smart & Biggar and IPH Group initiatives.

Your primary responsibility will be to act as the brand and marketing custodian for Smart & Biggar.

Responsibilities.
As the Marketing and Communications Manager, your key responsibilities will include:


Brand Custodianship:


  • Develop, implement, and participate in campaigns that elevate the Smart & Biggar brand
  • Ensure the quality and engagement levels of Smart & Biggar's marketing collateral, website, and social channels
  • Support brand campaign activities that align with the firm's Employee Value Proposition (EVP)

Marketing, Content, and Events:


  • Collaborate with the Head of Corporate Communications, Smart & Biggar's Managing Director, and the business development team to set objectives for marketing and brand campaigns
  • Drive marketing campaigns that support business development goals and lead generation activities
  • Provide campaign reporting and insights to support lead generation
  • Manage events such as seminars and webinars to support client and business development objectives
  • Oversee content strategy, including the development of a content calendar, recommending content, and managing content from conception to promotion
  • Optimize marketing channels, including the website (SEO), social media, and marketing automation tools

External Communications:


  • Collaborate with the Head of Corporate Communications on media monitoring and managing reputational issues
  • Build and manage relationships with media outlets, trade publications/journals, business media platforms, and legal directory publishers
  • Provide content and case studies as needed for IPH Group's corporate reporting activities, such as the annual report and sustainability report
  • Contribute ideas to grouplevel external communications campaigns

Internal Communications:


  • Work with Smart & Biggar's Managing Director and leadership team on internal communications
  • Collaborate with the IPH corporate communications team to cascade and localize relevant group content
  • Contribute ideas to grouplevel internal communication campaigns
Qualifications, competencies, and experience.

  • Bachelor's and/or graduate degrees in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
years of experience in Marketing/Communications in professional services/B2B marketing

  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies and campaigns
  • Strong written and oral communication in English. French language skills would be an asset
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fastpaced environment
  • Knowledge of marketing trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies in the legal industry
