**Ergonomic Specialist

The Ergonomic Specialist will be responsible for working with the Facility Management Team, the EHS Coordinator to establish, implement and maintain the company's Environmental, Health and Safety Management System, by auditing the effectiveness of the system and identifying areas for corrective action / opportunities for improvement.

The Ergonomic Specialist will support the achievement of the Company objectives related to Customer, Employee and Financial Satisfaction by carrying out the functions below as applicable.

Performance Expectations

  • Carry out action to meet the Stepping Stool Performance indicators.
  • Conduct Physical Demands Descriptions
  • Conduct Suitability Assessments
  • Perform ergonomic risk related analysis on processes using industry accepted tools
  • Perform design/layout reviews on processes to support the Facility during new program launches
  • Test scenarios for improving ergonomics of assembly process and design and present recommendations to Facility Teams
  • Manage project timelines
  • Coordinate/conduct related awareness training, ergonomic job coaching
  • Participate in seminars, courses, and other learning opportunities through the organization.
  • Other duties assigned as needed

Credentials

  • Post-Secondary Education in kinesiology, biomechanics, ergonomics, human factors engineering or related field
  • Registered Kinesiologist credential be an asset (CCPE or R.Kin).

Desired Characteristics

  • Able to work independently and within a Team, in order to provide professional and/or technical guidance regarding ergonomics
  • Must be willing to learn new technologies, new products, new information and regulatory changes within industry.
  • Experience identifying, quantifying, and providing solutions to ergonomicsrelated risks
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Visualization and critical analysis of physical demands associated with manufacturing processes in virtual design phase
  • Ability to learn new software
  • Ergonomics analysis tools not limited to 4D WATBAK, REBA/RULA, SNOOK, NIOSH, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS office required
