We are currently seeking to hire a Warehouse Supervisor at our meat processing facility in
Brampton, ON

Sierra Supply Chain Services provides protein (poultry, beef, pork) solutions to the food processing and distribution sector.

We simplify supply chain services and provide expanding value to the protein sector across our three locations in Brampton, Hamilton, and Mississauga.

We are excited to announce the expansion of a newest Processing facility in Hamilton that is: 25,000 square foot that allows for 200,000 kg of weekly multi protein grinding and daily custom boxing and blast freezing


What You will Be Doing/Position Details:

The Warehouse/Shipping Supervisor is responsible for leading the warehouse logistics to maximize storage capacity, inventory rotation, inbound & outbound orders schedule and the fill rate to customers orders is achieved.

Works closely with the Production Planner, Production Manager to achieve productivity KPIs._**
Accountabilities and Detailed Activity:
Shipping & Logistics Procedures (5S Management):

  • Communication to all parties of delayed inbound or outbounds timely: Scheduler, Production, CRM, Logistics.
  • Creates outbound orders and provides pick sheets and shipping documentation to warehouse employees, maintains, and updates the dock calendar accordingly.
  • Review shipments and generate packing slip and bill of ladings.
  • Contacts internal logistics or external carriers on trucks running late, missed appointments and other issues.
  • Participation in 5S improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace by embodying and performing the 5S' Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain.

Warehouse Scheduling:


  • Schedule and oversees storage, air tempering, blast freezing, shipping, and receiving.
  • Ensure that all scheduled Inbound & Outbound shipments are on time and accurate, regularly consult with production supervisors in relation to the schedule too.
  • Maintains and develops the in/out scheduling for all product and inventory.
  • Focus on maximizing staff utilization; revise schedule/plans as flow requires.

Inventory Control & Management:


  • Loading & Unloading of Trucks.
  • Focus on space management to ensure full utilization.
  • Receiving all materials accurately and in a timely fashion, coordinate inventory transfers with related departments.
  • Maintains inventory and controls by conducting scheduled physical counts and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Move inventory throughout the warehouse as directed, ensure all product is organized efficiently performing departmental housekeeping organizing floor space adhering to storage design principles.

Customer Support & Order Fulfilment:


  • Coordinate inventory transfers with customers.
  • Provides verified receiving records to internal customers within one hour of the physical receipt or shipment.
  • Informs/sends any other information to customers as required.
  • Maintains and improves customer service request system.

Warehouse Team Performance:


  • Sets and evaluates job expectations for dock and warehouse employees.
  • Actively assign personnel to warehouse duties as needs permit.
  • Plan daily duties and monitor employees to meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Train workers and develop them over time.
  • Delegate and match tasks to skills using the right employees.
  • Provide direction to the workers, including controlling labour and break times assigning.
  • Encourage team performance; motivate employees, recognize strong team performance.
  • Communicate effectively, give feedback, and do proper handover.
  • Surpass set targets.

Safety Protocol & Compliance:


  • Maintain all manufacturing and warehouse equipment to ensure it remains in good, working condition.
  • Ensure a safe working environment utilizing consistent practice of health and safety procedures.
  • Assist with the development guidelines and protocols for working safely.
  • Monitor employees work and performance to ensure compliance with safety guidelines and practices.
  • Follow and adhere to company guidelines on safe work practices (GMPs and SOPs) especially with shipping, receiving and transfer of product/goods.

Paperwork & Documentation Management:


  • Loading & unloading of trucks to be documented accurately.
  • Ensures accurate and timely entering and publishing of data for warehouse transactions and all items entering/exiting the facility (i.e. receipts, shipments, transfers, etc.).
  • Saves electronic copies of all inbound/outbound paperwork to company server, send all required physical paperwork to front office for filing.

Minimum Requirements:


  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Forklift license and 3+ years of experience of operating forklift.
  • 34 years of experience in a food processing/production environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in both oral and written communication
