Royal Camp Services is a privately held company which provides industry leading remote location accommodations for workforce housing. We offer long-term and seasonal employment in the culinary, hospitality, remote site services, and remote site operations industries.


Our highly skilled culinary team consists of employees with years of industry experience, formal culinary education, international training, and / or Red Seal Certification.

Our team prepares hearty, tasty meals drawing from a variety of menus with access to our extensive inventory of fresh produce, fine quality meats and supplies.

The large variety of meal offerings ensures clients with dietary restrictions, such as gluten sensitivity, are still able to have satisfying choices every day.

We offer hands on training opportunities for our staff and partner with local post-secondary institutions to provide culinary practicums to the next generation of industry professionals.

We are currently hiring for multiple Cold Prep positions for our Edmonton and Grande Prairie locations.


Job duties can include but are not limited to the following:

  • Complete daily sandwich inventory (recording production and waste), monitor variety, and rotate products to ensure freshness
  • Prepare meats and vegetable for sandwiches with direction from the Chef
  • Mix and prepare sandwich fillings, including made to order products, build, cut, wrap, and add date sticker to sandwiches/wraps
  • Ensure mise en place is completed prior to end of shift (i.e., taking frozen ingredients out to thaw)
  • Monitor variety and consumption of salads, adjust quantities based on consumption
  • Prepare meats (i.e. bacon), pasta, and vegetable for salads, including repurposing leftover ingredients
  • Mix, cook (where applicable), and prepare salads, refill salad station as needed, and provide cold line of fruits, vegetables, cold meats, cheeses, pickles, etc.
  • Produce a variety of well balanced and colorful salads, incorporating vegetables, fruits, and meats
  • Following various diets including vegetarian, vegan, cultural, and food allergies as directed by Chef or First Cook
  • Safely use all kitchen equipment under the direction of Chef or First Cook (i.e., fryer, mandoline etc.)
  • Demonstrate proper knife skills
  • Ensure all daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks are completed
  • Ensure food quality, food safety (including reporting all food allergies), and food standards are met

Required Skills:


  • Must have attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (including reading, writing, and speaking English)
  • Must be able to lift, move, push, pull, and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Available to work multiple rotations including but not limited to 217, 104, 95, and 14
  • Available to work a day shift, afternoon shift, split shift, or night shift

Required Experience:


  • 12 years of previous relevant kitchen experience considered an asset
  • Postsecondary culinary education considered an asset
  • Must have a valid Standard First Aid certification and an Alberta Health Services approved Food Safety Certificate
  • Be able to provide at least 2 professional work references
