Client Support, Pressure Equipment Records Specialist

ABSA, the pressure equipment safety authority, is looking for an individual to become a Client Support, Vessel Records Specialist at our main office in Edmonton.

ABSA is responsible for administration of pressure equipment safety services to the province of Alberta. Our organization is required to maintain accurate records about registered pressure equipment in Alberta.


These records include information about:

  • Ownership,
  • Repairs & alterations,
  • Location, and
  • Inspections


This position is primarily responsible for ensuring pressure equipment records in our database are updated in a timely manner and are accurate.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible to verify the equipment's identification numbers and that all required information provided is complete and relevant prior to recording into the Database.
  • Responsible to research inaccurate or incomplete information through various methods including reviewing historical documentation, liaise with other departments or contacting customers for added documentation or supporting information.
  • Responsible to respond to all client inquiries regarding vessel information providing excellent customer service, complete any database corrections.
  • Responsible for generating ESR's (electronic summary reports) and inventories, verifying that the information is submitted by authorized individual(s) and initiating applicable validation report(s), logging in reports to ensure compliance with department requirements, and processing ESR's.
  • Responsible for ensuring the deferral documentation and deferrals from the ESR are entered into the database.
  • Responsible for uploading various forms and documentation into the database to ensure Inspectors have access to the most current equipment information.
  • Responsible to ensure accurate vessel records in the database including, but not limited to, research and record all relevant data of old (A) numbers, vessel record discrepancies, and A# stampings, update vessel codes, vessel ownership, locations, and CRN's.


A minimum of 3 years experience working with technical documents such as engineering drawings, equipment maintenance records, or other industrial documentation.

Prior experience with Alberta Pressure equipment documentation requirements would be an asset

Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in administration or database management.

Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel
