Status:1 Regular Full-time


Salary Range:
$23.53/hr to $27.45/hr


Location: 1 Maple Avenue, Brampton and 1-45 Graham Court, Brampton

Hours of work:40 hours/week

The Role**:

In this role, you will ensure the building is maintained in a good state or repair and to ensure a safe and secure environment for all tenants, as well as maintain an appropriate standard of cleanliness internally and externally to residential building.


What you will do in this role:

  • Maintain the interior and exterior of a residential building in an appropriate state of repair and cleanliness, including maintenance of interior common rooms and corridors, in suite repairs, elevators, etc. as required
  • Monitors equipment to ensure that it is in good working order
  • Responsible for routine inspections. This includes daily walk through of property, playground inspections, monitoring/testing and inspection of fire safety equipment, hot water pressure gauges, move in/out inspections, annual in suite inspections, and maintaining daily activity logs.
  • Removes garbage and maintains all garbage equipment including compactor, bags and bins in a clean and working order
  • Performs cleaning and maintenance duties, including completion of repairs as necessary and ensures that service contracts or major repairs are completed
  • Investigates tenant work order requests and make repairs. Communicates with and provides instructions to contractors hired to perform work
  • Operates cleaning and assorted maintenance equipment in a residential building
  • Monitors projects and takes action to ensure the overall safety and security of property
  • Responds to emergency situations
  • Advises Peel Living staff of resident related concerns
  • Ensure lawns and flower beds are maintains during the summer months as required
  • Communicates with and provides information to contractors as necessary

What the role requires:


  • Graduation from high school or equivalent, or equivalent experience in an industrial or mechanical setting
  • Previous experience or training in the administrative aspects of building management
  • Exceptional customer service through effective communication skills (written and verbal) and the demonstrated ability to deal effectively and tactfully with residents and contractors as well as effectively show and market empty units
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of MS Word
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs including heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems, carpentry, drywall, windows, locks, painting and flooring
  • Unit turnover preparation and cleaning
  • Must be physically able to perform the strenuous tasks required
  • Possess knowledge of WHMIS and Residential Tenancy Act
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle throughout the work day is required
